Aubusson AUB401F Grey / Ivory Area Rug

A French neoclassical medallion composition balances grand architectural scale with soft, atmospheric weathering. Subtle grey accents articulate the scrollwork against a dominant ivory ground for a quiet, tonal contrast. Hand-Tufted in India: Tufted by hand from pure wool, creating a looped texture dense enough to hold the scrollwork and framed borders. Medium Pile: The 1/2-inch wool pile provides substantial cushion underfoot while holding crisp structural definition across the woven motifs. Wool naturally insulates, softens footsteps, and deepens in character over time. Traditional Medallion Pattern: An ornate oval cartouche anchors an open field framed by classical architectural spandrels and egg-and-dart borders. The formal layout carries traditional French palace grandeur softened by quiet abrashed shading. Neutral Grey and Ivory Palette: Soft ivory forms the base, complemented by quiet grey accents. The pale, weathered mix diffuses harsh daylight across open floors. Room Fit: A stately centerpiece for primary living rooms, formal dining halls, and expansive bedrooms. Position centered beneath seating arrangements or beneath dining tables to evenly display the symmetrical border framework. Rug Pad Recommended: Protects the hand-tufted backing from surface friction, prevents slipping on smooth floors, and adds supportive underfoot cushioning.
